Body copy: Built in 1834 and established as a private dining club in 1946, The University Club enjoys a long and colorful history intertwined with The University of Alabama and Tuscaloosa County. For 72 years The University Club has provided excellent cuisine, service and community for its members. Assumed by the College of Human Environmental Sciences in 2011, the club offers a hands-on learning experience for students studying restaurant, hotel and meeting management. 

Today, The University Club operates as a private dining club, special event venue and catering service. Located between the downtown area and The University of Alabama, The University Club is ideally situated to serve you and your family. 

The club’s wide variety of events ensure that there is something for everyone. Whether you would like to enjoy a daily lunch buffet, food and parking on UA game days, cooking classes, club social events, or rent the venue for a special occasion, we will create a memorable experience for all involved.

Membership and initiation into the club is divided into categories; most individuals must pay a one-time initiation fee of $100. Membership is extended to current or retired UA faculty/staff, UA graduate students, Tuscaloosa County residents and nonresidents, and corporate accounts. All members are welcome to upgrade to the championship level to enjoy additional benefits, such as access to the City Club of Birmingham.
